Give advice here on how to keep your members on your forum active. - Keep regular posting as the administrator.
- Have something to set your board apart from the others.
- Contests with good prizes keep members posting.

Re: Active Members
They help a lot too, another thing that works very well, I would guess (never tried), would be to get together a secret group of members, and have them post a lot, without the other members knowing that they are part of the staff team.

Haha, it would eventually, and it is sneaky.
Someone should try it, and post back here if it worked or not.

Re: Active Members
Contests are always a good idea, I have one going on right now. Nothing makes people post like nice cash.

Well, how do you get people that are willing to do that? I have been looking around for ages for these sort of people.

Re: Active Members
Have a spam forum.
It shows you care about giving the users freedom and you want them to have fun. Turn off the post count in that forum if that sort of thing bothers you. But having an offtopic area does wonders for the members.

Re: Active Members
Good tips in here.
KMRock, there are several companies that can provide you with this service. Just be sure to have some minimum requirements or you could end up with short posts that look like they were written by a five year old.
Install an RSS feed to bring the latest news of your forum subject. These auto posting news stories will give the members something to talk about and keeps you constantly updating content with the search engines.
